Old time radio show at Spring Lake Saturday

The bygone days of radio theatre will return to Spring Lake Park lakeside shelter this Saturday, Aug. 30, at 5 pm when the Community Players of Greene County present the CPGC Radio Hour.

The program will feature episodes of “Fibber McGee & Molly,” “Superman,” The Bickersons,” “Father Knows Best,” and the classic “Who’s On First.”

Chad Stevens, Alexis Stevens, Darren Jackson, Tim Pound and Gwen Hooper will recreate “Fibber McGee & Molly.”

“Superman” will feature Grace Hardaway, Troy Powers, Jackson, Chloe Powers, Zoey Winkelman and Stephanie Hall. Reading an episode of “The Bickersons” will by Troy Powers, Josh Tuel, Heather Moody and Tim Pound, with Pound, Troy Powers, Jennifer Powers, Chloe Powers, Winkelman and Grace Hardaway presenting “Father Knows Best.”

Attendees should bring lawn chairs or blankets for seating. There is no admission charge, but donations will be accepted to help the Players fund future productions. Spring Lake Park is located at 1847 195th St, between Jefferson and Grand Junction.
